Preparing our Youth for Success

Preparing our Youth for Success

Our young people have shown tremendous energy and versatility in a competitive globalized 21st world. Yet the enormous energy and resourcefulness of the millions of unemployed young Nigerians also continue to be wasted at great loss to our country and the world.

Beyond talk shows and conferences, there shall be a streamlining of all government agencies needed to create an accelerated Nationawide deliverable programme that connect the progress already made to a new agenda with measurable impact and with a focus on the global market.

From political leadership programmes to skills for the global market vision, we will engage, enable and work with Nigerian young people to create a future that they own, one that see as theirs and one that places them at the cutting edge of global competiveness in the marketplace.

Qualitative Education for All: Restoring Nigeria’s Education Sector

Qualitative Education for All: Restoring Nigeria’s Education Sector

Nigeria’s educational sector and system is broken. The system has lost her capacity to function as an uplifting platform for especially our children and young people. Whereas Nigeria public education sector used to be competitive and gave Nigeria a well-trained workforce, vibrant globally acknowledged students recognized for their brilliance, this sector has virtually collapsed at all levels. The challenge before Nigeria is the launching of a well-orchestrated and aggressive educational development agenda with inbuilt engine to rapidly move our country from a third world to a globally productive and respected level. Is this possible or doable? The answer is YES.

We shall declare a statement of emergency in Nigeria’s sector from primary to tertiary level and there will be entire system rethink, refocus and rebuilding to position our country for internal productivity and global competitiveness. There shall be an impassioned emphasis on Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) to ensure that no child who has ability and capacity in these subjects is left behind – the goal and motto shall be “No one shall be left behind”.

Together, we shall develop the workforce to build our environment, to help us take ownership of our climate change driven devastations from the Sahara Desert in the North to polluted water of Southern Nigeria and to drive industrial and AI revolution.

Change the Citizen’s Mindset for a Self-confident Aspirational future for All Nigerians

Change the Citizen’s Mindset for a Self-confident Aspirational future for All Nigerians

The humiliation, disunity and alienation from community governance brought upon our ancestors and introduced into Nigeria’s political leadership structure by European and Arab adventurists as in all other African countries continue to play out its negative constructs in the country.

The grinding and pervasive moral and financial corruption burdens evident in Nigeria of today, stem from the critical question of “Who owns Nigeria? Or “who is a Nigerian first before tribe?” This sense of confusion and the feeling of lack of ownership of our collective aspirations as Nigerians can be traced to non-recovery from the trauma of our dislocated history leading to hopelessness. Our value systems have been greatly eroded such that corruption, nepotism, ethnicity, religious bigotry and extremism, and economic sabotage are now a norm.

Beyond words, we shall drive an Arise Nigeria Campaign to reverse this state of hopelessness that has seduced the young, vibrant and resourceful segment of our population into embracing such notions noted by Dr Ngozi Okonjo-Iweala, Nigeria’s Former Finance minister such as:

  1. Hard work did not pay, rent-seeking behavior is what paid: you could get rich overnight by not being productive.
  2. Honesty was not the best policy, corruption was rewarding, and there were no sanctions for any misconduct. You could get away with anything as long as you knew important people.”

Through a consultative and evidence-based approach we will launch the Arise Nigeria campaign aimed at engineering a social construct and moral rearmament programme to return our peoples to our valued based, community orientated philosophy of problem solving and peace building. With the Arise Nigeria Campaign, our goal will be to be tell the citizen Don’t fix the blame; fix the Problem!

Our dream is of a New Nigeria, one where moral and financial corruption will be fiercely opposed by the majority. We will place the battle for the hearts and minds of Nigerians on a war footing to reclaim our cultural and community space for the Nigeria founded on equity, justice and the celebration of our diversity, a country with a confident, resilient and aspirational citizenry.
